Back on track…

With the holiday weekend behind us, and summer ahead of us…it is time to buckle down.

This week, commit to at least three days of healthful, whole-foods eating.

Need some help and inspiration? Try our 3 day non-cleanse, “cleanse”:

Day 1:

Breakfast: 2 hard boiled eggs, 1/4 sliced avocado. Two 8-oz glasses of water.

Snack: 1 piece of WHOLE fruit. One 8-oz glasses of water

Lunch: Greens galore. Load up on a salad with as many veggies as your heart desires and either 1/4 cup of raw sunflower or pumpkin seeds or raw nuts. 2 tbsp EVOO. Two 8-oz glasses of water.

Snack: celery sticks with 2 tbsp hummus or almond butter (no sugar added)

Dinner: 6 oz. of fish of choice, steamed broccoli, small salad with fennel, green cabbage, sundried tomatoes, and olives tossed with champagne vinegar. One 8-oz glasses of water

Tea or water with lemon. **No alcohol. No sugar**

Day 2: *Follow same water regiment as day before*

Breakfast: Steel cut oatmeal with 2 tbsp flax meal, cinnamon, and 1/2 sliced banana (or berries if you don’t like bananas)

Snack: 1/4 cup nuts or seeds

Lunch: An earth bowl: 1/2 cup Quinoa with veggies, 1/4 avocado and 1 tbsp of tahini dressing

Snack: One whole piece of fruit or the other 1/2 of that banana

Dinner: 2 small or one large turkey burger (no bun) with salsa and the cabbage and fennel slaw from before

Tea or water with lemon. **No alcohol. No sugar**

Day 3: *Follow same water regiment as day before*

Breakfast: 1 egg/1 egg white scramble with spinach over 1/2 cup quinoa. Top with salsa and 1/4 avocado

Snack: One piece whole fruit

Lunch: Kale salad with golden raisins and sunflower seeds tossed in tahini dressing

Snack: Carrot sticks with hummus

Dinner: 6 oz. skinless chicken breast or thigh with roasted butternut squash and roasted asparagus

Tea or water with lemon. **No alcohol. No sugar**

Feeling great and not deprived?? Keep it going! See if you can make it through the weekend eating like this…And if you need to add a glass of wine or a piece of dark chocolate but mostly eat like this, that is a win too!
