Spring is finally here! I don’t know about you, but my mood has vastly improved over the last week. It is amazing what a little sun can do for your motivation.
To kickoff SPRING, we are going to focus the next month on “spring cleaning.” Cleaning out your diet, your life, your house, your…blog? Well that is where I started at least. Perhaps you have noticed the new and improved FITlife? I hope you enjoy the more organized blog. Yup…I spring cleaned this puppy – and in doing so, noticed that there were a few posts where I had mentioned doing something and reporting back, but never reported back. Sorry about that! Well that stops now.
First order of business is to update you all on the volunteer activity I chose in the month of January as part of my resolution’s month. I am volunteering as a Girls on the Run coach. This was perfect fit for me. It was a daytime commitment, close to home, twice a week for an hour and a half, and there are three other coaches, so if clients need to reschedule or I get an audition, I know the girls are in good hands with the other coaches. Oh – and it is fitness related! I am helping the girls (3rd to 5th grade) gain confidence while training for a 5k! Not only do I feel like I am doing something good, I also feel good doing it. So far, we have had 4 sessions and I love it. Have you found your way to give back yet?
Checkout Girls on the Run to get involved and maybe join us for the 5K race! Lots of the girls want running buddies, and not all of them have parents that can participate. The race is on May 17th at 10 am at Anacoastia Park. Hope to see you there!
