FITworkout= Tabata… Ta-whata?

Do you have 4 MINS to exercise?!!  If you haven’t heard of Tabata… it is a type of high intensity interval training that can be completed in 4 minutes.  I mean what is better than that!!  An entire Tabata session consists of intense training for 20 seconds followed by a 10 second rest that repeats for 8 rounds.

At first I was skeptical, and perhaps my athletic hubris got the best of me, but I didn’t think that 8 sessions of a 20 second workout would be any substitute for a longer run or cycling session. However, after I completed my first 4-minute session I was hooked!! Doing 5 Tabata sessions (totaling 20 minutes) left me with the same feeling of a 50min cycling class… CRAZY, right?!  So whether you are a busy mom, or constantly traveling for work, or simply juggling a busy schedule, this workout will solve your “there is not enough time to workout” problems!!  Start with 4 minutes out of your day, and you will feel the burn… and then feel free to add one (or three!) more intervals.
